Mantras for Mooladhara chakra

Shri Ganesha MantrasNow, we are finally starting with the mantras for our chakras. Since we are invoking universal principles though, these mantras can be used for every purpose, like clearing an environment (at subtle level of course), for clearing someone else’s chakras and so on. Again, we will see affirmations in English language and Sanskrit mantras.
As we have seen the primordial principles of Mooladhara chakra (see the lesson Mooladhara chakra: symbols and traditions) are Shri Ganesha and Shri Kartikeya. The first one is for the left Mooladhara and the second is for the right Mooladhara (again, with right and left we indicate the aspects related to the right channel and the left channel respectively). Shri Ganesha is representative of innocence and wisdom; while Shri Kartikeya is innocence in action.
Usually in the Hindu tradition, and so also in Sahaja Yoga, Shri Ganesha is the first to be invoked to bestow us his blessing in favor of every enterprise we are going to start, included our meditation. In other words, we are expressing our desire that everyone of our actions is performed in a pure and honest way, without being disturbed by any negative influence.

As we have already said in a previous lesson, we do not need to repeat a mantra 1000 times. We can say it one or few times, the important thing is saying them by heart and with full attention. Anyway, in the case of Mooladhara, yogis use to repeat Shri Ganesha mantra fr 4 times, because four are the petals of this chakra.
The basic form of the Sanskrit mantra we are using for every chakra and for the energy channels is the following:

Om Shri … Namo Namaha

That means “Homage to Shri … “, where OM is the OMKARA. In uttering Namaha, the final “a” is not lengthened, but it is short (listen to the recording); while the “h” is pronounced. The final dot “.” in a word indicates a vocal that is missing, but that is slightly pronounced. For example you can find in some cases “Ganesh.” or “Ganesha”.

Shri Ganesha Atharva Sheersha – poetic adaptation

In Indian tradition, there are many Sanskrit ancient and less ancient invocations, that can be used for awakening our sacred principles. One of the most common, adopted in Sahaja Yoga,  is the Ganesha Atharva Sheersha.
It is dedicated to Shri Ganesha, that, as we said, is the personification of purity and innocence within us and in the whole Creation. It is the principle that it is at the base of all principles and permeate the whole universe. If this principle is not awakened and protected inside us, establishing the other principles is difficult.
In a future article, we will see the original version (with translation) of this prayer. For the time being, we will present you a poetical adaptation in English language. You can say it during your meditation at start, or whenever you feel like.

The divine essence of the prayer

Let our ears hear that which is true;
Let our eyes see that which is pure;
Let our beings praise that which is Divine;
And let those who listen hear not my voice
but the wisdom of God.
Let us worship with the same song, the same strength
and the same Knowledge.
And let our meditation enlighten and enrigh.
Let there be amongst us compassion and peace.

Salutation to Shri Ganesh, sakshat Shri Jesus
sakshat Shri Nirmala Devi Namoh Namah.
It is You who is the beginning of all the beginnings.
It is You who is the doer of all deeds which have been done, are being done and will be
done.
It is You who supports all things that are supported.
It is You who protects all things that are protected.
It is You who is the complete, all-pervading Spirit.
God’s Divine energy.

Think clearly brain.
Speak only the Truth.
Let Your presence, awakened in us by Kundalini, speak;
Let Your presence, awakened in us by Kundalini, listen;
Let Your presence, awakened in us by Kundalini, bless;
Let Your presence, awakened in us by Kundalini, protect;
Let Your presence, awakened by Kundalini, in us.
Your disciples, be the disciple.

its meaning;

To Your powers, Ganesha, let all surrender;
Let the left side of memory and the right side of action surrender to You and let Your
enlightenment prevail.

third is raised in blessing and the fourth offers sustenance.

You have long ears and are clothed in red;
red decorates You and You are worshipped with red flowers.

come to this Earth.

He who destroys all the powers of evil, Salutations to You.
